It all comes down to one tiny slide.

A door light is a miniature cinema projector. A high-power LED fires through a slide — the GOBO — and a lens casts your logo onto the ground. That slide sits millimetres from the heat of the LED. What it's made of decides everything: whether the logo stays razor-sharp for years, or yellows into a soft blob in a season.

Most of the market prints on plastic. We etch into glass.

Budget lights use printed PET film — inks stacked on plastic. LED heat warps it, the black masking fades, the colour washes out. You've seen the result in a parking lot: a yellow smudge where a logo used to be. Ours is a different tier entirely — the image is micro-etched directly into optical-grade glass. Cut into the material, not printed on top of it. It cannot fade.

Glass etching

The image is etched into optical glass with a fibre laser — the same discipline behind premium optics.

Industry-standard construction is printed ink on transparent plastic film — the material named outright in automotive patent filings. Glass is the exception, not the default.

The housing

The frame is injection-moulded in polycarbonate — chosen over cheaper ABS for real impact resistance and a heat-deflection point around ~135–145°C, well above anything a door throws at it.

Step 3

Cleanroom cut

The cured glass is cut to exact diameter in a dust-controlled cleanroom — because a single speck gets magnified enormously once it's projected on the ground.

The lens is seated against a focusing element and ultrasonically welded so it can't shift. Then every batch is scanned against a digital master for colour, focus, and clarity.

Cleanrooms. Glass etching. Ultrasonic welding. That's what you're paying for — and that's why it lasts.

Three reasons it lasts — and looks better doing it.

Zero thermal fading.

Optical glass shrugs off heat that destroys film — it holds its form past ~500°C, while the LED environment it lives in only reaches ~80–120°C. Cheap film starts warping and fading from ~80°C — right in that band. Leave the door open in July all afternoon; the glass doesn't care.

HD optical clarity.

A flat glass plane transmits ~92% of the light, clean and even. Plastic scatters it. That's the difference between a crisp, high-contrast logo and a leaky, washed-out one.

Finer detail.

Etching resolves detail down to ~0.03–0.05mm — fine enough for intricate crests, gradients, and fine text that printed film simply can't hold.
